Carp fishing bait MAIZE

We can use a maize (corn) in carp fishing. Maize is very good carp bait and lots of anglers use it. We can buy maize wich is already prepared or we can prepare it personally. The bait is so versatile that it is at home catching various species from carp to roach.

It is an excellent holding bait and you don't have to feed much to keep the fish interested. Once fish get a taste for corn the action can be frantic. It is also a bait that will entice big fish, so if you are being pestered by smaller bits but know the bigger stuff is there, then corn could be the answer.

One of the most effective and cheapest still water bait is corn. There are numerous types of corn on the market, both in tackle shops and supermarkets. Making the right choice is very important. I believe that quality corn will get you better results over the cheaper variety.

For fishing usually use two main types of corn. Normal maize (grain, which are normal size) and large grains (grain that are much higher than normal).

How to prapare maize (corn)

Maize is a simple to prepare, but it is critical that it is done properly, so we have included the following instructions for those carp fishermen who are new to this bait. First soak the maize for 24 hours, this soaking is then followed by the boiling process. Boil the maize for approximately 45 minutes. This boiling process will slightly soften the bait and it is this process where the magic of maize begins.During the boiling process the maize will start to release its natural sugars, which the carp find irresistible, when boiled, empty the maize and its hot water into a suitable plastic bait bucket.. Store the bait in a dark, cool shed (not in the sun) and use it within 3 days. Prepared maize can be frozen for later use as long as you allow plenty of time (12 hours) for it to fully defrost, but personally I prefer to use it freshly made while it is still releasing its irresistible carp attracting sugars.

Maize is a truly great carp fishing bait, it is brightly coloured, full of magical carp attracting natural sugars, contains high levels of energy boosting carbohydrates, it is easy to prepare and use, and it costs very little.

Carp fishing bait TIGER NUTS

Tiger nuts is one of the best baits for catching carp. Carp love tiger nuts. Tiger nuts are hard nuts which have to be prepared properly before they can fished with.

In fishing is used from 80-years of the last century. You can buy prepared or raw. In every little better store fishing equipment can be found on the shelves (for example, of Dynamite Baits). If you buy prepared tiger nuts do not have any concerns, go to fishing and that's it. If you buy it raw, you'll have to cook it. First put into the water over 24 hours, then in that lead cook about 30 minutes, then cool down nut. Into cooked nuts you can add scents, aditive and colors, but I recommend that you do not do it because carp likes flavour such as natural taste. Tiger cooked nut, you can also freeze and after that normally use. You can mix it with other baits (corn, boilies, hemp, etc.) anduse it for feeding. Skilful angler says that if the carp will not take any bait, it will bite on tiger nut (whether it is a truth check on your own). Today, there are a lot of the type buy boilies on the basis of tiger nut. You can hair rigged them and I usually put two onto the hair. At the pictures you can se tiger nuts dry particle and prepared one from the shop.

Carp fishing bait HEMP SEED

Hemp seed is one of the most effective and simple carp attractors and feeding stimulants of all time. It offers high feeding stimulus for the carp, high oil content, amazing holding power, simple preparation and low prices when compared to other carp fishing baits.

As with all particle baits the hemp seed needs preparation, but it is such a simple process that many anglers prepare their hemp whilst they are fishing, and use it as soon as it is ready, this is known as hot hemp, there is no way of keeping it as fresh as this.

Classic hemp preparations are very simple. First you need to soak your hemp seed in a bucket of water for 24 hours. After that, put it cook about 30 minutes (or until the seeds are not split) and your hemp is ready for use.

Hot hemp is prepared in the same way as a classic that is only during the cooking of 0.5 kg of hemp add 1 ml sweetener, and yet you get a better effect if you use the sweetener with the emulsion properties. But if you fish on the fish boilie instead of sweetener put the teaspoon of salt. Do not overdo the amount of sweetener or salt, because this would have unwanted effects.

Prepared hemp is best used immediately, and no later than a couple of days. Also, it can be frozen, and later defrost and use, but because of the simplicity of preparation is recommended that the benefits of fresh prepared. Boiled hemp can be used, and mix together with other particles especially with corn.

Knotless knot

The easiest knot which you can imagine is knotless knot or knot without knots. Everyone can make this knot. Try to make a knot in this way and never more you will not use another knot.

I'm using Sufix Heavy skin that is super fast sinking and with stiff removable coating braid for advanced rig making (strenght about 12 kilograms or 25 lb).

First of all pull of some of plastic coding of the braid. Make overhand knot with a loop on the end. That will be hold the bait on.
Pass the other end through eye of hook. (picture 1)
Starting from the opposite side of the gap in the hook eye begin winding the hooklink around the hook shank. Wind the hooklink around the shank at least 7 times down. (picture 2)
Then wind the hooklink around the shank at least 3-5 times up. (picture 3)
Tighten knot carefully making sure loops butt up neatly. (picture 4)

Place the bait by using bait needle and bellow bait put a hair stop (See article: Carp systems).

Boilie and maize

Every angler has some water where hunted carps. Each water requires special preparation: choosing of bait, lead, hook, and certainly thickness of lines what depends on the configuration of the bottom, water grass and other water plants.

We can use different types of baits. Make sure to use the natural kind baits who will easily attract carp because it is certainly accustomed to the food from the natural environment. For the carp fishing we must use at least scents, tastes and colors which are common in nature. Tastes that we can put in food for carp can be a different origin, and they usually shares to the fruit and animal origin.

During the sunny and hot days I suggest that you use sweet and fruit scents and tastes, because the water is warmer and smells such a fruit and will more easily attract fish (strawberry, pear, bananas, sour cherry, raspberry, chocolate, etc.). During fishing in the colder days or in fishing over night when the water cools (in spring and autumn) you must use stronger scents animal origin (shell, mussel, octopus, squid, fish, etc.). Water is colder than during the day and the use of these of heavy fragrances in these conditions will be easier to expand and attract carps.

Today's fishing, we can not imagine without boilies. But these are nothing else but boiled corn flour in a special way. Of course into boilies are puts different ingredients such as fish flour, bird food, flax, hemp, powdered milk and various smells and sugars. Boilies are in different sizes, colours, and of course that the different taste and smell. At the picture you can see some different boilies.

Boilie carp systems

Carp fishing methods have changed dramatically over the last ten years. Carp rigs have become more sophisticated with new developments in hook bait presentation and the invention of numerous types of specialized hook lines made from materials with a whole host of properties. Today there are so many rig systems to choose. I will present to you the simplest systems that are very successful.

For the first system just put on boilie
at the hair and bellow bait put a hair
stop as at the picture bellow. This
system is especially good for clean
bottoms: without aquatic grass and
the other water plants and without mud.

Second system is the system with boilie
and a small piece of sponge. Put a boilie
on hair, put a sponge and the hair stop
bellow of all. Sponge will raise the boilie
and the system will not stay at the bottom
in the mud.

Third system is as we call it "the snowman".
It consists of boilie and the pop-up boilie.
The pop-up boilie is the same as in upper
case the sponge but the pop-up boilie is the
boilie with taste and smell. For this system
we uses two boilies with the proviso that
second boilie is floating and rises both baits from the bottom.

The most popular carp fishing system is system which is composed of: tube, metal bolt rig or safety bolt rig, swivel, lead, leader, hook with hair and hair stop when we put the boilie on hair.
